Bits, Bobs and Production Diary 18/10/11

Mat and I thought it was about time that we began to blog in more of a production diary format everyday. Just keeping you all updated on what we are doing when and our intentions for the near future.

We started this yesterday but I didn't blog it... so here is an update...

We finalised our script completely and agreed on our shot types and camera moves, whilst also laying out some rough time estimates on each shot. We added these into the celtx script and ended up with a well timed 3 minutes and 7 seconds! Which we are very pleased with!

We won't have a true idea of how long the animation is going to be until we have done our animatic, but at 3 minutes and 7 seconds we don't have much to adjust.

Besides this we discussed the styling of the 2D side of our animation, and both agreed on a similar styling to Steamboat Willie. Especially the styling in this sort clip; a town called Lilliput from the game Kingdom Hearts 2.

We are planning in integrating the 2D style with 3D models, taking a lot of our inspiration from the above animation and others similar to it.

Other than this we discussed some camera shots that needed adjusting to make the animation flow better and make the continuity stronger.

Now to email it to the lecturers to get the go ahead...we are well aware however that there will no doubt be changes suggested to the shooting script.
